Karick Heaton

Bio

Karick Heaton | Fine Artist Salt Lake City–based artist Karick Heaton creates intricate, deeply symbolic works that invite the viewer to slow down, look closer, and uncover meaning layer by layer. Working primarily in pen and ink and mixed media, Karick uses extraordinary detail to explore themes of spirituality, nature, transformation, guidance, reflection, and the unseen connections between them. Symbolism is at the heart of his work. Animals, natural elements, light, water, snow, and other recurring imagery are rarely present simply for their beauty; each carries meaning and contributes to a larger visual narrative. A single piece may contain multiple symbolic references, encouraging each viewer to interpret the work through their own experiences and beliefs. His process is equally intentional. Some works require well over 100 hours to complete, built patiently through thousands of individual marks and layers of detail. The result is art that reveals something new each time you return to it. Thoughtful, meticulous, and rich with meaning, Karick’s work embodies what Juniper + Fire celebrates most: art created by hand, rooted in story, and made to be experienced far beyond the surface.
