Recovery

Finished in 2026, Recovery is an intricate pen-and-ink work built through more than 100 hours of drawing, with layer upon layer of detail revealing itself the longer you look. Its geometric symmetry, repeating botanical and architectural forms, and vivid use of color create a sense of movement and rhythm that feels both precise and deeply expressive.

Bright yellows, blues, greens, pinks, and warm earth tones are balanced by meticulous linework and complex repeated motifs, drawing the eye inward and then outward across the composition. Like recovery itself, the piece holds many layers of depth - structured yet evolving, deliberate yet full of energy. The result is a richly detailed, almost meditative work that rewards close viewing, with new patterns, relationships, and moments emerging each time you return to it.
