Daniel Violante Paramo
Bio
Painter | Born in Mexico City in 1972, Daniel Violante Páramo has always been a dreamer drawn to new ideas. He studied marketing and advertising with an eye toward the creative world, and during those years he pursued his artistic calling through fine art, photography, and product design, while also working in his family's business developing new technologies. In 1997, the colors and natural beauty of the Mexican Caribbean called to him. Daniel began a new life in the Mayan lands, on the beaches of Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, where his surroundings continue to shape his art and feed the dreams he brings to every piece. Daniel paints on laminated sheets of PVC, canvas and glass, working with oils, acrylics, and other mediums, including oil slicks, that let him express himself freely. His techniques are as intuitive as they are varied: he gently blows on the paint to form patterns, works with a brush, or paints directly with his fingers, creating images that invite the viewer to imagine. His work has been exhibited widely, including in collective shows raising awareness for endangered species, such as La Sombra del Jaguar and La Noche Blanca de las Tortugas. He has received important recognition, his work has traveled beyond Mexico's borders, and his pieces are held permanently in galleries in Chicago and Miami. Once, Daniel titled each work individually. Today, he gathers them all under a single name: "The evolution of my being, my soul, and my dreams…"
