About the Collective

What is Juniper & Fire Collective?

We are a curated collective connecting independent artisans with people who value originality, craftsmanship, and the beautifully imperfect character of things made by hand. Our collections span jewelry, clothing, ceramics, art, home goods, and gifts, with a particular love for the American Southwest, Central America, and beyond.

Who makes the pieces?

Independent artists and makers from across the Americas. Every artisan has a profile on our site so you can learn who they are, how they work, and what inspires them. Some work entirely on their own; others run small studios under their direction.

Is everything handmade?

Every piece is made by an independent artisan or a studio working under their direction, not mass-produced. Product pages describe the materials and techniques behind each item.

Why might my piece look a little different from the photos?

Handmade work varies. Natural stones differ in color and pattern, wood grain is never repeated, and glazes shift in the kiln. These small variations are part of the character of a handmade piece, and when something is made one at a time, there may not be another exactly like it. Our artisans photograph and describe their work as accurately as possible so you can choose with confidence.

How do you choose your artisans?

Our collection begins with relationships. Through conversations, portfolio reviews, samples, and studio visits, we get to know the people and processes behind each piece. We look for a clear creative voice, thoughtful materials, skilled execution, and honest representation of how the work is made. Read more in The Juniper Standard™.

Orders & Shipping

Where do you ship?

We currently ship within the United States.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is calculated at checkout. Because each artisan ships from their own studio, rates depend on the maker, the size and weight of your items, and your location. The majority of our Artisans include free shipping.

When will my order ship?

It depends on the piece. Some items are ready to ship; others are made to order. Each product page shows its expected processing time before shipping.

Why did my order arrive in more than one package?

Our artisans pack and ship their own work directly from their studios. If your order includes pieces from more than one maker, they will arrive separately and may come on different days.

How will I know when my order ships?

You will receive a shipping confirmation by email when each artisan ships their part of your order, with tracking when available.

Returns, Exchanges & Damage

What is your return policy?

Return policies are set by each artisan and are listed on the product page, so please review them before purchasing. To start a return or exchange, use our Contact form and choose "Return or Exchange," including your order number.

Is anything final sale?

Yes. Custom, personalized, and made-to-order pieces, and original artwork, are final sale and cannot be returned.

What if my order arrives damaged?

We are so sorry when that happens. Please contact us within 48 hours of delivery using our Contact form. Choose "Existing Order," include your order number, and attach photos of the item and its packaging. We will work with the artisan to make it right.

Still Have Questions?

How do I reach you?

Send us a note through our Contact page and our team will get back to you as soon as possible. Choose the topic that best fits your question (product question, existing order, shipping, return or exchange, and more) so we can route it quickly.

Selling with Juniper & Fire

For artists and makers interested in joining the Collective.

Who can apply?

Independent artisans and makers from across the Americas whose work is handmade by them or by a studio under their direction. We welcome jewelry, clothing, ceramics, fine art, home goods, and other handcrafted work.

What do you look for?

A distinct creative voice, thoughtful materials, sound construction, and considered finishes. We also ask artisans to represent their work honestly, including materials, techniques, origins, and any claims about sourcing or sustainability, and to represent cultural traditions accurately and with respect. Our full expectations are described in The Juniper Standard™.

How do I apply?

Use our Contact form and select "Artisan Inquiry." Tell us about your work and include a link to your portfolio, website, or social media. If it looks like a fit, we will follow up to learn more, which may include a conversation, a review of samples, or a studio visit.

Do I need my own Shopify store?

No. There are two ways to work with us. If you already have a Shopify store, we can connect it to the Collective. If you do not, we can set one up for you. Either way, the store stays in your name and belongs to you.

How does pricing work for artisans?

Our model has two parts: a commission on sales and a monthly fee. For artisans whose store we set up and manage, the monthly fee is based on the size of your catalog, and each month you pay either the fee or the commission earned, whichever is greater, never both. Artisans who connect an existing store have a one-time setup fee and a monthly subscription. An optional exclusivity arrangement carries a lower commission rate. We share full terms with artisans once we have confirmed a fit.

How and when do I get paid?

Sales are settled monthly.

Who owns my work and my designs?

You do. You keep full ownership of your designs and creative work. You grant us permission to use your product images, descriptions, and story to present and promote your work on Juniper & Fire.

Who handles shipping and returns?

You ship orders directly from your studio, set your own processing times, and set your own return policy, which is displayed on your product pages. We support you and the customer if a concern arises.

Is there a long-term commitment?

No. Either party can end the relationship with 30 days’ notice.
